Steve Unger
Ex-regulator, Non-executive Director and Researcher
Until recently Steve was a Board member of Ofcom. He was Ofcom’s Chief Technology Officer for about a decade, as well as leading Ofcom’s strategy group, and spending a brief period as Acting Chief Executive. He led a variety of projects dealing with specific aspects of media policy.
Before becoming a regulator he spent several years in the private sector, working for high-tech start-ups who were exploiting new wireless technologies.
He now divides his time between various non-executive and advisory roles, including the Geospatial Commission, the International Institute of Communications, Faculty AI, and ASSIA Inc. He is a Research Affiliate at the Bennett Institute for Public Policy at the University of Cambridge.
