Everyone TV is seeking views on a proposed approach to determining the geographical areas in which local television services receive public service prominence when delivered over IP on the Freely platform.
As television viewing increasingly transitions from traditional broadcast transmission to internet delivery, Everyone TV is proposing a methodology that aligns prominence for IP-delivered local TV services with the widest practical interpretation of their existing Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) coverage.
The proposal is intended to provide a fair, objective and consistent framework that reflects the regulatory purpose of local television services while supporting viewer expectations and efficient management of the Freely channel guide.
Everyone TV welcomes responses from industry stakeholders, including broadcasters, consumer groups and viewers. Responses must be received by 5:00pm on Tuesday, 1st September 2026.
